Ohio Credit Union Foundation

A 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Foundation empowers credit unions through access to elevated knowledge, growth of internal competencies and capacities, and support in recovering from disasters. Relying solely on donations, every dollar is granted back to credit unions.

Every dollar contributed funds credit union programs, projects, and initiatives that financially empower individuals and strengthen credit unions. Contributions to OCUF are tax deductible.

The recommended donation for a credit union, as determined by the OCUF Trustees, is calculated at a rate of $15/$1 million in assets. Make a donation here or send a check payable to the “Ohio Credit Union Foundation,” at 10 W. Broad St., suite 1100, Columbus, OH 43215.

The Ohio Credit Union Foundation awards grants that support educational and outreach initiatives that promote financial independence through credit unions, professional and volunteer development, and for disaster relief.

Community Investment Fund

The Community Investment Fund gives credit unions the ability to leverage their investments at Corporate One Federal Credit Union to support innovative credit union programs.

To participate in the Corporate One CIF Option, credit unions invest in a security that is held in a separate free safekeeping account. As interest is paid on the security, a share of the interest is returned to investing credit unions, with the remaining share being paid to The National Foundation, half of which is then granted to the OCUF.

We urge your credit union to consider a CIF investment to help support Ohio Credit Union Foundation educational and outreach initiatives that promote financial independence through credit unions. (https://www.corporateone.coop/Investments/Community-Investment-Fund.aspx)

The Ohio Credit Union Foundation has created the William A. Herring Society, a planned giving opportunity that recognizes credit union employees and volunteers, past and present, who have shown a steadfast commitment to the Credit Union Movement.

Nominations can be made by an Ohio credit union or leader that wishes to acknowledge an employee, colleague, or volunteer for his or her dedication to the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.” Ohio credit unions can make a $1,000 contribution to the Foundation to recognize the commitment, passion, and distinguished service of key leaders in their organizations. All funds received will be granted by the Foundation to support credit union social responsibility initiatives that help people of modest means.
